hereby we provide you some information about the required documents and also warn you that submission deadlines for a few forms are coming next week, please see the exact deadlines at the beginning of each section.
Please note that only the team captain and two deputies may upload and/or replace documents in the name of the team.
As for IAD, SE3D, SES, SESA, EAIR & ESF, AAIR & ASF, BPES, CRD, DSS, EDR, ADR: submissions later than the initial deadline will be penalized with 10 points for each overdue 24 hours. These will be deducted from the team’s total score up to a maximum of 70 points for each deadline independently.
Please save the deadlines and upload your documentation adequately.

Structural Equivalency Spreadsheet (SES) / Structural Equivalency 3D Model (SE3D) / SES Approval (SESA)

All teams must submit a Structural Equivalency Spreadsheet (SES).
SES describes the exact materials and processes used during the fabrication of the vehicles.
The submitted SES documents must meet certain criteria written in FS-Rules 2017, Chapters T2.8 –T2.17 (www.formulastudent.de/uploads/media/FS-Rules_2017_V1.1.pdf).
All teams must also submit a Structural Equivalency 3D Model (SE3D), which must contain a three dimensional CAD model of the frame / monocoque including all members of the primary structure in “IGES” file format not larger than 40MB. As for the electric vehicles, it is also a mandatory to include the accumulator container(s) and attachment in SE3D.
For the teams with a monocoque vehicle, it is also a must to submit a SESA document.
The Structural Equivalency Spreadsheet (SES) must be checked and approved by:
• University professor
• Validation/inspection organization (e.g. DEKRA, ...)
• Engineering firm for lightweight structures
• Engineering consultancy company
• Any other official competition
Once the SES has been approved by one of the listed institutions, the SESA form should be filled out and signed by this institution and uploaded until the SES and SESA deadline.

Impact Attenuator Data (IAD)
(!) SUBMISSION DEADLINE: June 13TH, 2017, 12:00 CEST (!)
All teams must submit an IAD form containing Impact Attenuator test results, description of the test setup, the used test equipment and photo documentation of the IA structure before and after the test.
Rules and criteria regarding the Impact Attenuator and the IA tests can be read in FS-Rules 2017, Chapters T2.18 – T2.20.

Electrical Systems Form (ESF) - EV only

All teams must submit clearly structured documentation of their entire electrical system (including control and tractive system) called ESF.
The Electrical Systems Form must contain the following datasheets:
Battery cells of the tractive system accumulators, Accumulator management system, Accumulator isolation relay, HV and LV wiring, HV disconnect, Master switches and shutdown buttons, Pre-charge and discharge circuits components, Chargers, Fusing (for both HV and LV cell), Motors, Motor controller, Brake system encoder, Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

Electronical Throttle control - FMEA (ETC FMEA)

Those teams who use an ETC system that is commercially available, but does not comply with the FS-Rules 2017 Chapter CV1.6, must submit an additional page in the system description of the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with intent of using such a system. Project Status Report (PSR)
(!) SUBMISSION DEADLINE: June 13TH, 2017, 12:00 CEST (!)
All teams must submit a Project Status report in order to give us a glimpse of each vehicle’s project plan and how the designing and manufacturing processes are working.
10-slide presentation has to be uploaded to the FSH website about the state of manufacturing, which will be examined by the FSH judge Committee. It has to contain photos of the manufactured items (only 1 CAD graphic at most is acceptable) and a detailed schedule about finishing, testing and race preparation.
The expert group will reply by a written evaluation and give a warning if necessary. In case the presented material shows questionable processes, unreasonable or not proper methods, or raises concerns about the design or manufacturing, the team in question may be disqualified. Engineering Design Report and Design Spec Sheet (DSS)
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 10TH, 2017, 12:00 CEST
All teams must submit an Engineering Design Report and Design Spec Sheet.
As for the EDR, it should contain a brief description of the overall vehicle with a review and derivation of the team’s design objectives. Any information to scope, explain or highlight design features, concepts, methods or objectives to express the value and performance of the vehicle to the judges shall be included at the teams’ discretion.
The EDR must not exceed eight pages, consisting of not more than five pages of content (text, which may include pictures and graphs) and three pages of drawings.
The three EDR drawings (no renderings) must show the vehicle from the front, the top and the side. Each drawing must appear on a separate page.
Please note that only the first eight page of the document will be evaluated, no further pages will be read and taken into consideration during judging.

Cost Report - electronic copy
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 10TH, 2017, 12:00 CEST - Please note that changes will NOT be permitted after the deadline.
All teams must submit the Cost Report Documents, which must contain the followings:
• The BOM created in excel file (Rules and criteria: 2017-18 Formula SAE® Rules S4.9)
• The supporting material file uploaded as a pdf file
An addendum for the CRD is not possible.

Business Plan Executive Summary - electronic copy
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 10TH, 2017, 12:00 CEST
All teams must submit the Business Plan Executive Summary, which should contain a brief description of the team’s business plan.
The goal of this document is to convince the potential investors or partners that the team’s presentation is worthy of their time and money.
As for the formal criteria, the BPES must not exceed one page. The vehicle number must be written on this page. In case that BPES does not meet the formal criteria, 5 penalty points will be deducted from the final Business Plan Presentation score.
