Dear FSH Volunteer!
We are glad that you are interested in the „Red Shirt” volunteer program at Formula Student Hungary. We would like to thank you for your enthusiasm and share some more details about FSH volunteering
The event starts on August 17th and ends on August 20th 2017. This year the event will be in Győr with 44 international teams competing. You have the chance to participate in the preparation phase before the event. If you are a high-school student you can even spend your mandatory community service here.
YOU CAN HELP WITH THE FOLLOWING TASKS BEFORE THE COMPETITION:
Setting up the location and track: getting the event location and the track all set for the race, e.g. measuring, score painting, preparing the Ticket Center and building the Event Control Center.
Assisting in the office: helping us in our event office in Győr before the event, e.g. controlling the Ticket Center's database, helping with the installation of electrical instruments, placing posters and handing out flyers
YOU CAN HELP WITH THE FOLLOWING TASKS DURING THE COMPETITION:
TRACK MARSHAL
The duties of the track marshals include monitoring, controlling and directing the races with the proper usage of the flags, helping the judges and scrutineers checking the cars before and after the dynamic events. It is an advantage to show interest to mechanic duties and to be familiar with the signal of each flags.
EVENT CONTROL ASSISTANT
The Event Control is the general inquiry point during the weekend. It is essential to have excellent communication skills to be able to help with any occurring issue. The duties include welcoming visitors and register teams at the entrance of the event venue as well as handing the participating teams their previously compiled starter packs. EC Assistants also support the Event Leaders and Judges.
Administrational tasks are also a part of the job, e.g.: monitoring the deposit of team speaker devices, data loggers, fire extinguishers at the beginning and at the end of the event, handing out the equipment listed above to the teams and taking it back.
Assistants are taking care of the traffic control as well, and during the unloading of teams’ equipment they guide the trucks into the event area.
General insight into the technical background of FS is an advantage, and don’t forget: it is a must to have good communication skills.
THERE ARE SOME JOBS THAT REQUIRE HIGHER FS KNOWLEDGE:
MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL SCRUTINEER
BUSINESS / COST / DESIGN JUDGE
